What is HeroChat?
HeroChat is a GDPR-compliant AI chatbot from Germany. The AI answers customer questions automatically – as a web chat on your website and as an assistant for WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and SMS. All channels come together in one inbox, the Unibox.
How does the AI chatbot work?
You create a knowledge base – from texts, FAQs or your website. The AI understands freely worded questions and answers from it, around the clock. What it doesn't know yet, it hands to your team, so the knowledge base grows from real questions.
Which channels does HeroChat work on?

Data protection & GDPR
Is HeroChat GDPR-compliant?
Yes. HeroChat is a German company (HeroChat GmbH, Berlin), hosts in the EU and signs a data processing agreement. The AI runs on Azure OpenAI in Frankfurt – your data does not leave the EEA.
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union. AI processing runs on Azure OpenAI in Frankfurt, with further infrastructure on C5-certified platforms.
Can I use WhatsApp in a data-protection-compliant way?
Yes. When used via HeroChat, all data is stored within the EU – including at the WhatsApp Business Solution Provider. WhatsApp Ireland ensures an adequate level of protection via the EU standard contractual clauses.
Can I delete customer data?
Yes. With a few clicks you remove an entire contact – all associated data and the complete chat history are permanently deleted.
